
Minutes of the meeting of the RADLETT FESTIVAL SUB-COMMITTEE, Wednesday 2 March 2005 in Meeting Room One, The Radlett Centre, Aldenham Avenue , Radlett.

Apologies were received from Councillors J Howley and R Worthy, and from Brian Hyde and Cilla Martin.

Graham Taylor declared an interest on behalf of the 1st Radlett Scouts.
- Approval of Minutes from meeting held on 2 February 2005
The Minutes were approved as a true and correct record.
- Concert Up date – Vicky Churchill
Vicky gave an updated report as follows:-
Satisfactory discussions were going ahead with Rob Shaw of Tabard RFC
1 June could be a possibility for an elimination show at The Radlett Centre
A specimen poster was circulated and agreed
People involved with the festival to have a pass
Stuart Davies, Chiltern Radio to send two Black Thunders (cars) to the Festival to promote the Radio Station and in return would advertise the Festival for two to three weeks beforehand
Mark Gatland, Sound Garden Music Shop, Barnet had donated an electric guitar to give to the winning school, other prizes were hoped for
Vicky would make contact with schools after Easter
PA equipment would need to be up and working by 11.30 am at the latest, with sound checks at 12 noon
Suggested time for event would be between 3 pm and 7.30 pm
It was agreed that people could either sit on the grass or bring their own chairs
Tabard to be asked if they would object to banners around the site
Close neighbours to be notified
The availability of electricity to be checked
Music Licence to be obtained
Insurance
Entrance fee on 11 June to be considered
Stewards and Security to be checked
Radlett Centre expenses to be confirmed
It was agreed that the Festival Rock Band Working Party would consist of Viv, Giles, Neil, Vicky and Roger.
- Radlett Fair – Sunday 12 June 2005
The following items were discussed:-
The Harrow School Steel Band had been booked at a cost of £300
The Manager for Stanley Mann hoped to have two to three classic cars available on the day
The Lagonda Owners Club to be contacted
Sylvia reported that 10 different craft stalls would like to book
Jan was asked to order trestle tables
Jan was asked to check that Mr Amer had been booked
It was agreed to sell programmes at £3 on the day and £2 beforehand
The Red Cross to be booked
Ray reported that ‘A Man with A Van' was prepared to make himself available for the weekend free of charge (tel 01727 768826)
Ray had set up web site especially for the festival ( festival@radlett.info )
Ray reported that all advertising spaces in the programme had now been sold
Ray required the editorial by the end of March
Simmons Estate Agents offered to sponsor – Giles to approach Mark Ruben
Details of the Parish Emblem to be sent to Viv
- Distribution of Proceeds from Radlett Festival 2004
The youth organisations who are benefiting from the 2004 Festival would be presented with their cheques on the Annual Parish Meeting on 5 April 2005.
