ALDENHAM PARISH COUNCIL
Minutes of the meeting of the NEWSLETTER COMMITTEE held at 10am on Wednesday 9 January 2008 in Meeting Room Two, The Radlett Centre, Aldenham Avenue, Radlett.

Apologies were received from Councillor Mrs V Charrett.
- Declarations of Interest
There were no declarations of interest.
- Minutes of the Meeting held on 21 November 2007
The Minutes were signed as a true and correct record.
- Matters arising from the Minutes of the meeting held on 21 November 2007
- Change of date - The Chairman apologised for not formally informing the Parish Council that she had changed the time of the meeting from 8pm to 10am.
- Printers - It had previously been agreed with Caprin Printers that, in the future, each issue required to be proof read once.
- Paper Weight - Edition 77 had been delivered to the Royal Mail Sorting Office at Rochester and it was found to be 5 grams overweight, a small charge had been made but that had been passed onto Caprin Printers. The paper weight to be used in the future needed to be revised and the matter would be resolved with the printers.
- To adjourn the meeting for members of the public to address the committee (if any) in accordance with standing order 13.9
There were no members of the public present.
- Feedback from edition 77
Two main criticisms had been received one that the print was too small and the other that the main colour red was not strong enough.
- Colour edition from April 2008
As from 1 April 2008 the front and back pages would be in full colour. It was agreed to ask the Radlett Art Society if they would ask one of their artists to provide a full colour painting.
- Budget 2008/2009
The details of the budget for 2008/2009 would be discussed the Finance and General Purposes Committee to be held on 16 January 2008.
- Contents for the 78th edition
Colour to be Pantone Yellow C.
The following items were put forward for possible inclusion in the next edition:
- Highway Solution ideas put forward to Transportation Committee by Jonathan Abel aged 8 years.
- ‘Do we want these walls’, Tony Jennings with sketch, possibly to be included in ‘Letters to the Editor’

- NHS – Gill (probably not appropriate as came from Conservative agent)
