  1. Apologies for absence

Apologies were received from Councillor W Deem.

  2. Minutes of the meeting held on 19 October 2006

It was noted that on page 2 under items requiring attention, it should read “the new road surface was raised” and not the manhole cover.

The minutes of the meeting held on 19 October 2006 were signed as a true and accurate record.

  3. Matters arising from the minutes of the meeting held on 19 October 2006

    • The lamp post on the north west corner of Aldenham Road/Watling Street had been replaced.
    • One of the no entry signs had been replaced at the south end of Newberries Parade
    • The tree in front of Watling Mansions had been replaced.

It was noted that all other items from “under items requiring attention” were still outstanding.

In addition to the previous outstanding items the following also required attention

    • There were a lot of potholes in New Road and there was also flooding sometimes
    • The top end of Newberries Avenue was badly potholed, some areas had been tarmacced but by the end of the day the tarmac had come out
    • The top end of Gills Hill needed resurfacing
    • The pavements in Aldenham Avenue needed to be repaired.
    • Christchurch Crescent needed sweeping after being resurfaced, i.e. the tarmac needed to be swept away
    • The footpath across Oakbank in Watling Street needed repairing
    • The road leading down to Newberries Car Park was badly potholed
    • The pavement outside the Village Institute where the Oak tree was removed needed repairing urgently.

  4. The future or Radlett Station
  5. Councillor D Lambert reported that there was nothing much to report on Radlett Station. There was much emphasis on completing Crossrail. On a positive note, Councilor Lambert reported that  Radlett Station would be extended to take 12 coach trains and this was considered to be a major achievement.

  6. Highways
  7. Councillor D Lambert reported on the proposed improvements to Watford Junction. He had been consulted on the improvements and had responded to the document.

Councillor D Lambert reported that there would be a meeting between Councillor H M Saunders and representatives from Highways on 20 March 2007. Councillor Mrs A Baker offered to attend. Mrs R Floate would give Councillor Bakers notes of the meeting.

The bollard at the bottom of Shenley Hill was still causing problems.

The signing at Harper Lane in Park Street still needed improving.

  8. Date of next meeting
  9. The next meeting would take place on Monday 15 October 2007 at 8pm.

The meeting closed at 8.55pm.
