ALDENHAM PARISH COUNCIL
Minutes of the meeting of the Radlett Festival Sub Committee held at 7.30pm on Thursday 8 June 2006 in Meeting Room 2, The Radlett Centre, Aldenham Avenue, Radlett.

- Election of Chairman
Councillor Mrs Charrett was elected Chairman of the Radlett Festival Sub Committee for the forthcoming municipal year.
- Apologies for absence
Apologies were received from Councillor R Worthy, Caroline Corfield, Vicky Churchill and Mary Wright.
- Declarations of Interest
Stuart declared an interest as chairman of the Watford Peace Hospice.
- Saturday Evening – Picnic in the Park
- Graham circulated copies of the site plan
- The children’s playground would be used as an assembly point in the event of an emergency
- The comperes will announce all safety measures, lost children point, location of toilets, exit points etc.
- The large scouts tent would be erected at 3pm on Saturday. Help is required to erect the tent. Jan to contact the Round Table
- Graham, Philip and others will be at Phillimore Recreation Ground on Saturday to deal with cables, wiring etc.
- Coconut matting will be borrowed from the Hare Krishna and used to cover cables etc
- The field would be marked out by the grounds staff during next week
- The tent would be erected first followed by the stage
- The two thunder cars would be present on both days
- The number of tables to be delivered by Cars remained at 40
- Stuart Nagler would encourage publicity through the hospice staff
- Committee Members offered to stand outside the station on Thursday handing out flyers
- Two pairs of Radlett Centre steps will be used in conjunction with the stage
- Roger would locate the raffle ticket drum
- The raffle tickets to be sold on Saturday evening would be priced at £1 for five
- Jan would obtain some black plastic sacks
- Jan would finalise the event insurance
- Roger would sort the floats with Kathy
- Jan would obtain 100 cups
- Sunday Fair
- Gate One (at the car park entrance) would be manned by the Round Table
- Gate Two (Aldenham Avenue entrance) would be manned by Allan and Muriel Beaver
- Sylvia would be responsible for the tear off slips
- All unsold programmes to be returned to Jan
- Sunday am. The entrance would be manned by Graham, Philip and Roger
- Two Notices were required – Stallholders and Tables
- Comperes to arrive by 10.30am
- A list of mobile phone numbers to given to each committee member
- 4 standing mics and 2 cordless were required
- The dog show judging would be the ‘nicest’ dog and the nicest bitch
- Rev Wm Hogg would be invited to judge the children’s fancy dress competition and present prizes – Nicola Day will contact
- The Hare Krishna would perform an Indian Welcome Dance
- Viv would obtain prizes and certificates for all children taking part plus a Radlett Festival pen
- The raffle would be drawn by the Mayor, Councillor Martin Haywood
- Mary would enquire about bunting from Watford Market
- The Red Cross would be given a voucher for food
- Sylvia would ask Budgens to donate sweets
- Nil would obtain 60 chairs
- Date of next meeting
The next meeting would be held on Thursday 15 June at 7.30pm.
