ALDENHAM PARISH COUNCIL
Minutes of the meeting of the RADLETT FESTIVAL COMMITTEE held at 7.30 pm on Thursday 9 February 2006 in the Douglas Hicks Room, The Radlett Centre, Aldenham Avenue, Radlett.

1. Apologies for absence
Apologies were received from Councillors Howley and Worthy, Caroline Corfield, David Crofts and Stuart Nagler.
2. Declarations of Interest
There were no declarations of interest.
3. To approve the Minutes of the meeting held on 12 January 2006
The Minutes were signed and approved as a true and correct record.
4. Matters arising from the Minutes of the meeting held on 12 January 2006
The matter of the introduction of an attractive entrance to this year’s carnival, as suggested by Graham, was discussed. Viv would make contact with a film set builder and also with Radlett Players and Radlett Light Opera Societies.
5. Saturday Evening Concert
Jane informed the meeting that unfortunately, Mr Apthorp was unable to host this year’s concert. Alternative venue sites were discussed. Ideas included Salters Field, Phillimore Recreation Ground, Shenley Walled Garden, Tabard Rugby Club, Aldenham Country Park, Starvacres, Aldenham, Edge Grove, Fairfield and Newberries Schools.
David and Jane would look at the suitability of the various sites and report back to
the next meeting.
So far, the following had been booked/organised:
- Borehamwood Brass Band
- Singing for Pleasure
- A 30’ x 40’ marquee with chairs
- Philip Eastburn had agreed to stage manage both the concert and fair
- Radlett Music Club would help with tickets sales and advertising
- Sound Check of Watford would provide sound equipment as previously.

7. Financial Items
Roger would make contact with John Howley/Kathy Clague, Accounts Officer at the Parish Council Office, to ascertain the financial arrangements for the 2006 Carnival.
