ALDENHAM PARISH COUNCIL

Minutes of the meeting of the RADLETT YOUTH & COMMUNITY CENTRE held at 8pm on Tuesday 17 January 2006 in Meeting Room 2, The Radlett Centre, Aldenham Avenue, Radlett.

1. Apologies for absence
   Apologies for absence were received from Councillor W Deem and from the caretaker Mr Reg Carrott.
   
   
   
2. Declarations of Interest
   There were no declarations of interest.
   
   
   
3. Minutes of the meeting held on 7 September 2005 for confirmation and signature
   The Minutes were signed as a true and correct record.
   
   
   
4. Matters arising from the Minutes of the meeting held on 7 September 2006
   1.  Insurance  The meeting was informed that the contents insurance had inadvertently been covered by two insurance companies, ACE and NFU.  The two policies amounted to a total cover of £10,000. Following discussion it was agreed that the contents amounted to no more than £5000.00 and therefore the cover with ACE would be cancelled. (Action:  Deputy Clerk)
   
   2.  Kitchen   The kitchen floor required replacement but in view of the uncertain future of the building it was agreed to fix 1” edging to the existing floor.
   
   
   
5. Work to the building carried out by the caretaker
   In the absence of the Caretaker the Deputy Clerk listed items of work carried out to the building since the last meeting on 7 September 2005.
   
   1.  Kitchen - The kitchen cupboards had new fronts and worktops, the work had been carried out by the Grounds Staff.  The kitchen floor required attention and one wall required repainting.
   
   2.  Toilets - The walls and ceilings had been repainted and a clear plastic sheet had been fixed to the rear of each toilet cubicle.  The floors had been repainted and now required new non-slip tape to be fixed.
   
   3.  Main Hall - The hall floor had been re-polished.
   
   
   
6. Meeting with Lampton Smith Hampton
   A meeting to discuss the future of the building would be held on Tuesday 31 January at 10.30 am with Mr Tony Lipson of Lampton Smith Hampton.  Councillors Mrs V Charrett, J Howley and Mrs E Wackrow would attend on behalf of the Parish Council.
   
   
   
7. Youth Club Report
   It was noted that the Probus Club had given a sum of money to Radlett Youth Club.
   
   
   
8. Date of next meeting
   The date of the next meeting was scheduled to take place on Thursday 13 April.  This meeting had now been cancelled and a revised date would be notified after the meeting with Lampton Smith Hampton on 31 January 2006 had taken place.
