ALDENHAM PARISH COUNCIL
Minutes of the meeting of the RADLETT FESTIVAL COMMITTEE held at 7.30pm on Thursday 19 May 2005 in Meeting Room Two, The Radlett Centre, Aldenham Avenue, Radlett.

1. Election of Chairman
In the absence of the Chairman, Councillor Mrs V Charrett, Mrs Sylvia Cohen was elected to Chair the meeting.
2. Apologies for absence
Apologies were received from Roger Housechild and Councillors John Howley, Ron Worthy and Mrs Viv Charrett.
3. Declarations of Interest
There were no declarations of interest.
4. Minutes of the meeting held on 4 May 2005 for confirmation and signature
The Minutes were signed as a true and correct record.
5. Saturday 11 June – Rock Band Competition
The following items were noted:-
- Allan Beaver confirmed that, at present, he had been unable to secure the presence of a judge for the Rock Band Competition
- It was understood that Spencer Cobrin had shown interest in helping to judge the competition
- A drum kit had been gifted by Pearl Drums
- Other prizes included, first prize – a two day recording session, a keyboard and two guitars
- Vicky reported that she had arranged with Raj to pay for his services
- The toilets still require organising
- The First Aid cover was still to be finalised
- 7 stalls had been booked for Saturday
- 15 bands had been booked so far
- Letters to neighbouring houses had been sent
- Walkie Talkie radios would be supplied by Vicky
- Salters Field would provide plenty of car parking
- The Hare Krishna would supply six tents for Saturday
- **Briefing/huddle to be held at 12 noon on Saturday for a pre-briefing** car parking attendants, stewards, stallholders etc to attend
- Viv to approach Cricket Club to ensure that they are aware of the event
- Check in/out routes
- Drop-off zone to be created – signs required
- Details of band car parking to be discussed with bands at initial audition
- PC Adele confirmed that the police are fully aware of the event and specials would be in attendance on the day
- Overnight security guard required in return for payment of £50 per night Gauri and Sylvia to make enquiries
- Vicky to ask Simmons Estate Agents for advertising boards to be sited at the main entrance roads into Radlett
- Ray Hayes confirmed that Steve Hill with his white van was prepared to offer his services tele no 01727 768826/832115
- Drinks to be picked up from Costco on Thursday evening
- Ice to be ordered from Unwins
- Cool Boxes and Bins were required
- Offer Tabard (Gary Walton) a cash sum for use of their pavilion Giles/Jan to speak to Gary
- Jan to check numbers of yellow hats
6. Sunday Fair – 12 June 2005
- 65 stalls had been booked, 12 of which were craft
- Mr Amer was concerned about being sited on the old tennis court site because of the slope. Graham would sort out
- Black Bins required
- Prizes for fancy dress competition required
7. Programmes
Mary had 40 rounds in total of which 28 were covered. Sylvia would ask Rotary to assist.
8. Dates of next meetings The next meetings would be held on Thursday 2 June and Wednesday 8 June at 7.30pm in Meeting Room, The Radlett Centre. Gauri das had kindly invited members to attend a dinner at the Manor on Thursday 23 June.
