Minutes
of the meeting of the NEWSLETTER COMMMITTEE held
at 7.30 pm on Thursday 10 July 2003 in Meeting Room Two, The
Radlett Centre, Aldenham Avenue, Radlett.

1. Appointment of Chairman
Councillor Mrs A Reith was
elected Chairman for the Municipal Year. In
the absence of the elected Chairman, Councillor Worthy agreed to chair the meeting.
2. Apologies for absence
Apologies were
received from Councillors Mrs Reith and Mrs Turner.
3. To approve the Minutes of the meeting held on 1 April
2003
The Minutes
were signed as a true and correct record.
4. Matters arising from the Minutes of the meeting held
on 1 April 2003
There were no
matters arising.
5. Feedback from 60th edition
Overall Members
were very pleased with the edition in particular the colour on
the front and back covers.
One resident
had telephoned to say that he enjoyed reading ‘Around Radlett’ but
he found that the print in this issue rather small.
Mr Ken Herbert,
who advertised on the back page, had written to say that he was
disappointed with the artwork for his new advertisement and considered
it to be ‘fuzzy’. He requested that we spoke to our
printers.
The Deputy Clerk
reported that despite the printers having a long lead up time
the edition was in the end rushed and proof reading time was limited to faxed
copies that were difficult to read.

Advertisements
The Kinetic Business Centre were not sure if they wished to repeat their half
page advertisement in the 61st edition, they would discuss the matter and get
back to us. Similarly, the Gingerbread House were considering a repeat advertisement.
Mr M P Sloane
does not wish to continue with his advertisement at the present.
All other
advertisers were as before.
8.
Format and Colour
It was agreed
to used an autumn colour and to ask Print Service to borrow their
colour swatch.
The format will be either twelve or sixteen sides depending on content and
advertisers.
7. Delivery to include request by Radlett Music Club
for a Joint Delivery
Mr Michael
Stockbridge, on behalf of the Music Club, had requested a joint
delivery of their 2003/2004 programme with the Parish Council newsletter. The
meeting was informed that no additional costs would be incurred by the Parish
Council.
Members agreed to the joint
delivery.
8. Put Together
The Put Together
of edition 61 would take place on 28 July 2003 at 8 pm in Meeting
Room 2.
