Festival Preview:

As the new Radlett Festival Chairman, I am fully aware of how difficult my job is going to be maintaining the high standard that Cllr Viv Charrett set in previous years.

I have been living in Radlett for the past 4 years and in Finchley for 15 years prior to that. I have been, and still am, involved with many charity and community events in Finchley, but I am delighted to be living in the beautiful village of Radlett.

It is wonderful to be surrounded by such a professional team of people on the Radlett Festival Committee. This committee is made up of local residents and business colleagues who have collectively produced what I’m sure will be another very exciting event this year. In particular, I would like to mention Allan Beaver and Sylvia Cohen who have both given the committee some first class input into the Festival this year. I am truly delighted that international singing star Julie Rogers will be making an appearance at this years Festival, she will be helping us to judge our Children’s Fancy Dress and Dog Competitions.

It is excellent to see so many of the local community, including the surrounding areas of Aldenham, Letchmore Heath, Patchetts Green, Round Bush and High Cross joining in to make this year’s Festival such a success.

We are very grateful to Beaver Travel for offering such a fantastic first prize in our raffle, which is a wonderful trip to Disneyland USA. So we decided to make ‘Disney’ the main theme of this year’s event. Full details about our raffle are in this programme. Our thanks also go out to Focus Newspaper Group whose staff give their extra time free of charge to produce our programme.

We are very grateful to The Hare Krishna Temple once again, who always support us so generously and we continue to enjoy the involvement of our local churches, synagogues and societies.

There is so much on offer at the Festival this year which will be held once again in the Phillimore Recreation Grounds, that I have listed most of the things below for you to read, the fun begins at midday on Sunday 10th June. Come along with your friends and family and enjoy the day, and I look forward to seeing you there.
